I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on product value as that is a hot topic all over the internet today. There’s no way you can miss the $7 wave as well as the Resell Rights, Master Resell Rigths and Private Label Rights craze completely drowning the internet like a huge wave of water.
Product Value
So what is product value?
Is it the price the person selling it asks for?
I thought so a couple of years back. I considered buying a product to be a change of money for something I didn’t already have.
And now, I almost think the same. The biggest change is in that I no longer change money for something I didn’t already have but to get something that will teach me something I didn’t already know.
What is the difference then,
A something you can save on your harddrive without even looking at it (you may even be guilty of having a product or two you haven’t really checked out after buying!) has no value at all.
Until you actually read it, unpack it, install it, use it and see what it does and use that information to create new paths of action, new ideas on what to do, new products you need to move forward.
Here’s the point of it all!
A $7 product is virtually free. I promise you that if you read even a 2-4 page short guide you buy for $7 you’ll end up with some change in choices or behavior in the future. Changes born from the content in that short guide. If the changes make you more money even better, but even that is in most cases up to you.

You can’t buy money
Sad but true. Even Bill Gates and Donald Trump with all the money they have must make decisions and take some kind of action to not only keep their treasure but to make it grow.
The same goes for all the online product you see daily telling you how to make more money fast and easy. After years of buying a lot (to much actually) I’d say there are very few products at any price that are completely worthless. There nuggets of gold in them all and some are pure gold.
You’ll always have to work.
This hurts. I’d love to sell you something that was work-free but that will never happen I think. And this ticks a lot of people of. Just take my word for it, even if the salesletter never even mention the four letter word, work, it’s in there somewhere.
Here’s a couple of advices for you,
- You will always have to do some kind of work to move forward (until you can pay others to do it)
- All products, methods and techniques will require you to work (and this in turn require skills you may or may not have)
- The real value of a product is calculated not what you payed for it but rather how much you can benefit from it (check every purchase out, read the ebooks, install the software, test the scripts etc).
As they say in chess, better a bad plan then no plan at all. I’ve seen people buy old, outdated and according to people that knows better, non working products. They had faith, they paid for it and therefore that product became the center of focus for them for months and a lot of them had success and even made a lot of money.
Because the took action, they worked with the product and t

Kenth,
I have a slightly different take on value. Too long to go into here, but if you’re interested, look at http://babble.barnatwork.com/post/44/value-cost-worth-redux/ and http://babble.barnatwork.com/post/25/value-cost-worth/ for a brief discussion of value-cost-worth (the 2nd post) and the fiction of intrinsic value (the 1st post).
Actually, our views are not all that disparate, methinks, just taken from slightly different vantage points.
Make a good day …
